Yarn, Santa, and a Make and Take

Yarn, Santa, and a Make and Take

The annual Candlelight Tour was finally here! We had a great time meeting everyone who stopped in. Thanks so much for dropping by.

We had an evening of yarny fun. We offered a free raffle. The drawing will take place on Sunday (12/2/18) evening. There’s still time to enter. I can wait to meet the lucky winners. We’ll notify you by email during the week.

For fiberista’s, we offered two hat patterns to help make your holiday making less stressful. You can stitch up either one of these hats quickly.

I present you the brand new Crochet design by Dolla Toppin, the Clydesdale Hat. For now, Clydesdale a free pattern, available exclusively at AKS Yarns. The hat is called Clydesdale because it’s a little workhorse of a hat that you can grab and look great in. The unisex design is worked in Berroco Ultra Wool which we have in 10 colors.

The Clydesdale hat is worked flat and then seamed, easy enough for beginners and potato chip crochet for experienced crocheters.

For knitters we, have the Nye Hat, by Amy Christoffers for Berroco. Nye is also a free pattern available at the store and on Ravelry. The Nye Hat is full of showy cables that are meant to mimic the double helix of DNA strands. Nye is worked in Berroco Ultra Wool. Soft, cozy superwash wool gives brilliant stitch definition. This hat would be a great gift for yourself or that knit-worthy person in your life. Nye is worked in the round and the cables are intuitive enough that it’s relaxing knit.

In addition to fiberistas stopping in and having their way with our squishy goodies, AKS Yarns welcomed lots of local kids for a make and take. My mom, lead the kids through making the coolest little Christmas ornaments. There was one little miss who was so proud of making her Christmas ornament “perfect”, so adorable.
