As the first knitter in a crochet family, I was a bit of a knit sheep. I'm still clicking along. Eventually, I had to start enabling the care and feeding everyone else's stash.

Want to improve your skills or learn something new? We have a fun lineup of knitting and crochet classes that will take your knitting or crochet to the next level.

Knitting for Beginners

Learn to knit in two classes. In Beginning Knitting 1, you’ll learn to cast on, the knit stitch and knit garter stitch. In Beginning Knitting 2, you’ll learn the purl stitch, stockinette stitch, and binding off. When you’ve completed both classes you’ll be ready to launch your first project with confidence.

Details:

Dates: Beginning Knitting 1, is held on the first and third Saturday of the month from 2:30pm-4:00pm. Beginning Knitting 2, is held on the second and fourth Saturday of the month. To see dates click the enroll button below.

Materials: 100 grams of light colored, worsted weight wool and a 5mm/US 8 needle

Cost: $30 per class

Beginning Crochet

Learn to Crochet in just two classes. In Beginning Crochet 1 you’ll learn chains and single crochet. In Beginning Crochet 2 you’ll move on to half double crochet, double crochet and single/double stitch combinations. When you’ve completed both classes, you’ll have the foundations of Crochet and you’ll be ready to take on your first project.

Easy Ombre Slouch Hat

Always been a little intimidated by color work? Now’s the time to conquer that fear. We’re offering a stranded color work project class. Our instructor, Laura Harris, will lead you through the learning to manage multiple colors, reading the charts, locking floats and joining in the round.

Over the three sessions, Laura will guide you through each essential skill you’ll need to successfully finish the Easy Ombre Slouch Hat, by Paul S. Neary.

You’ll need to be comfortable knitting and purling to be ready to take this class.

Magic Circle and Crochet in the Round Workshop

A Magic Ring is a great way to to begin a crochet project that will be worked in the round. Our instructor, Lora Stout, will show you how the magic ring can be used on any project that is worked in rounds. It works for both crocheting in a continuous spiral and in joined rounds. One of the benefits of using a Magic Ring is that there is no hole in the beginning of your work. This workshop is one session.

Yarn Substitution

Dolla Toppin, teaches essential skills you can use for all your yarn substitutions. You'll discover what to look for in a yarn besides gauge and how each of these factors affects your final results. You'll explore yarn weights, how they relate and how to determine the yardage you need in your chosen yarn. This workshop is for both knitters and crocheters.
