Hi.

As the first knitter in a crochet family, I was a bit of a knit sheep. I'm still clicking along. Eventually, I had to start enabling the care and feeding everyone else's stash.

Manos came up with a Fingering weight, merino superwash, quite artisanal, that would be the perfect canvas to play with color and get amazing effects.

Fingering is so popular right now, Alma’s generous yardage 546 yards makes it perfect for shawls, socks, accessories and even sweaters, without demanding too much knitting time.

When developing Alma, Manos looked for the softest merino superwash and spun a single ply 500+ yards per 100 gram yarn.  Alma is very light and lofty, with lots of body and volume.

As with all, Mano yarns, Alma is hand dyed in Manos cooperatives in Uruguay's countryside, by rural women. It is a yarn that's beautiful, ethical and sustainable.

Alma means soul in Spanish, it’s pure and tender nature  brings to mind all things good.  We are so happy with it and  hope you will try and enjoy it too!
